Pedestrian seriously injured in US-41 crash
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 30-year-old North Fort Myers man was seriously injured in a crash on N Cleveland Avenue (US-41) near Evergreen Road in North Fort Myers early Monday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking near the intersection and trying to cross US 41 when he was hit by a tractor-trailer around 5:25 a.m.
The North Fort Myers pedestrian was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition, troopers said.
The truck driver identified as a 27-year-old Mississippi man was uninjured in the crash.
Northbound lanes of US-41 were shut down at the intersection while troopers investigated.
