Thanksgiving day wreck kills one, injures four near Palm Beach State College in Belle Glade

BELLE GLADE — A two-car crash killed one man and injured four people Thursday afternoon near Palm Beach State College’s campus in Belle Glade, according to a crash report from the Palm Beach Sherriff’s Office.

Novilus Frinot, 45, “made an abrupt movement” into oncoming northbound traffic on State Road 715 just after 5 p.m., according to the report. His Nissan Altima’s front passenger side collided with a Dodge Durango, seriously injuring the SUV’s driver and three passengers, according to the report.

The crash report does not say how fast either car was going.

A Trauma Hawk helicopter flew Frinot, a Belle Glade resident, to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where he died just after 6:30 p.m. The occupants of the SUV, all from Odessa, Texas, received treatment at Lakeside Medical Center in Belle Glade for serious injuries.

There are no charges pending in the wreck, PBSO said.
