2 nights, 2 hit-and-run crashes in West Palm Beach

It has happened again: back to back nights in West Palm Beach, a hit-and-run driver has sent someone to the hospital.

On Sunday, it was a 4-year-old boy, Monday night, a 58 year-old-man named Raymond Alexander.

Alexander’s family tells that he broke both of his ankles, his jaw and hurt his head. He’s currently in a medically induced coma. They said he was hit doing his nightly walk to and from a nearby store.

Dash camera video shows Alexander crawling out of the road and onto the sidewalk with two broken ankles shortly after he was hit.

“We are just hoping and praying that he can come up out of this and recover,” his niece, Sandra Alexander said.

“And whoever did this can be brought to justice,” his great niece, Marquita Alexander said.

Police aren’t sure what kind of car hit him or who was behind the wheel.

This comes exactly 24-hours after a 4-year-old was hit in downtown West Palm Beach.

That one happened on Okeechobee Boulevard, near the Restoration Hardware and what was formally known as CityPlace, now just called ‘The Square.’

Police are now calling it a ‘light’ colored 4-door sedan that they’re looking for.
