Orange City dirt bike rider, 30, dies after crashing into SUV that turned into his path

An Orange City man riding a dirt bike died Thursday night after crashing into an SUV that turned into his path, troopers said.
The 30-year-old, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was traveling eastbound on Blue Springs Avenue near Cedar Avenue about 8 p.m. when the driver of the Jeep SUV, traveling westbound on Blue Springs, tried to make a left turn, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Honda dirt bike, which didn’t have working lights, crashed into the passenger’s side of the 39-year-old Orange City woman’s SUV, troopers said. The rider was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV’s driver suffered minor injuries, and a third vehicle was struck by debris from the wreck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash.
