Motorcyclist rushed to trauma center after Bonita Beach Causeway crash

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the Bonita Beach Causeway, Sunday morning.

The driver of the motorcycle slammed on their breaks while on the bridge overpass leading to a crash, according to officials. The cyclist had injuries that required advanced medical support while on the scene. The motorcycle driver was then taken to a trauma center to receive treatment.

A passenger in a car that was also involved had minor injuries, officials said.

The road is slowly opening back up for traffic as officials clean up the debris from the crash.
