5-year-old girl dies following North Fort Myers crash

LEE COUNTY, Fla.– A 5-year-old girl died following a crash in North Fort Myers on Saturday afternoon.

The little girl rode her scooter onto Castleview Drive when she was hit by an SUV, according to officials.

The child was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition before being transported to Tampa General Hospital. She died from her injuries on Sunday.

The driver of the car was 91-years-old, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
