Crash in Bonita Springs kills 1
A 49-year-old New Jersey man died in a crash Friday night.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Bonita Grande Drive, north of Bernwood Farms Road, just before 10 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. The crash happened near the border of Bonita Springs and Lee County, in an area near the Quail West Golf & Country Club, near I-75.
According to troopers, a 39-year-old Naples man lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on Bonita Grande Drive. The SUV traveled off the road, collided with a tree and overturned.
The 49-year-old man who died was ejected.
The driver and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
