Child killed and two others in serious condition following a car crash on State Road 29
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A child has died following a three-vehicle accident on State Road 29. Two people were also injured in the crash.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
According to FHP, one vehicle was traveling south on State Road 29 while the two other vehicles were traveling north on State Road 29.
The first vehicle attempted to change lanes into the northbound lanes forcing the second vehicle to swerve right into the grass shoulder. The first vehicle’s rear then sideswiped the second vehicle, according to reports.
Then the first vehicle had a head-on collision a third vehicle in the northbound lane.
The child who died was pronounced deceased on the scene. One adult and one child, who were both in the third vehicle, were transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
