Troopers investigate rollover crash in Palm Harbor
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are currently investigating a rollover crash that occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021.
The crash occurred as a 20 year-old male driver from Port Richey was traveling northbound on Belcher Road in a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse. In a press release from FHP, they say that an unknown vehicle changed lanes and entered the path of Eclipse.
While attempting to avoid a collision with the unidentified vehicle, the driver lost control and traveled to the east shoulder. Upon entering the shoulder, the Eclipse collided with a utility box and residential wooden fence at the southeast corner of the intersection of Hawk Avenue.
The Eclipse continued across the intersection and collided with another wooden fence at a residence located on the northeast corner of the intersection before coming to final rest adjacent to the home.
According to FHP, both the driver and his 16 year-old passenger suffered only minor injuries.
