Pedestrian killed in crash on Roosevelt Boulevard in Pinellas
A pedestrian was hit and killed on Roosevelt Boulevard early Friday morning in Pinellas County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The crash occurred about 5:50 a.m. near the intersection with Dodge Street, which is just east of U.S. 19 and a about two miles northwest of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
Troopers said the pedestrian, a 33-year-old man from St. Petersburg, stepped into the path of a car when he was trying to cross Roosevelt. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man from Clearwater, was not injured, troopers reported.
No other information was released.
