Ocoee man, 27, dies in west Orange crash, FHP says
A 27-year-old Ocoee man died Monday evening in a west Orange County crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were driving side by side on north Hiawassee Road, near Tallowtree Lane, around 8:30 p.m. when they collided with each other, said FHP spokesperson Lt. Kim Montes.
After the crash, both vehicles entered the southbound lanes, where one hit a tree and the other struck a light pole, Montes said.
The driver whose vehicle crashed into the tree later died at a hospital, Montes said. The other driver, a 23-year-old Apopka man, was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The crash remains under investigation. It was not immediately known if speeding was a factor in the deadly crash.
