Central Florida man dead after riding motorcycle into curb
A DeLand man died Tuesday evening driving a motorcycle in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At around 7:30 p.m. the 72-year-old man was traveling west on Pioneer Trail, and near Ride and Slide Trail, which close to the New Smyrna Speedway, when he ran into a curb, said Lt. Kim Montes.
The bike traveled off the roadway and overturned.
The unidentified rider, who was reported to have been wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, Montes said.
