ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that took the life of a teen riding a bicycle Friday afternoon.
Troopers said a 15-year-old Orlando boy was run over around 3:40 p.m. by an SUV while he was riding a bike in a crosswalk at West Town Center and Mallard Cove boulevards.
A 44-year-old Orlando man driving the SUV south on Mallard Cove Boulevard ran over the teen as he made a right turn to head west on West Town Center Boulevard, witnesses told troopers.
According to a report, the teen was going east on West Town Center Boulevard before he was hit.
The teen was taken to Orlando Health, where he died, troopers said.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and no other details were released.
