1 dead, 1 hurt in crash in east Orange County

A male victim is dead and a 17-year-old boy from Orlando is in serious condition after a vehicle accident Thursday night in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident took place at around 7:55 p.m. at the intersection of Parry Lane and Colonial Drive not far from Bithlo, said FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.

It is unclear who was driving, but troopers discovered an SUV was traveling east on Colonial when the driver attempted to change lanes and lost control, Montes said.

The SUV overturned and ejected both occupants; neither wore seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
