One driver extracted from their vehicle after car crash in Ocala

Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to car crash early this morning, Feb. 23rd, at the 3400 block of SW 27th Ave.

OFR Public Information Officer, Ashley Lopez, said when units arrived, they found a Jeep with moderate damage to its front end, a Prius with moderate damage to the driver’s side door, and Honda sedan with heavy damage to the passenger’s door.

The driver of the Honda needed to be extracted from the vehicle, Lopez said.

Using special tools, crews removed the Honda’s passenger’s side door, Lopez said, and were able to remove the driver.

Lopez said both the passenger and driver of the Honda were trauma alerted to the hospital. The driver of the Jeep was also transported to the hospital.
