Ocala Man And Woman Killed In Citrus County Motorcycle Crash

CITRUS COUNTY, FL. – A 72-year-old Ocala man and 77-year-old Ocala woman died after a crash that happened around 5:25 pm on Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck, driven by a 21-year-old Hernando man, was traveling southbound on N Carl G Rose Hwy, north of East Orchid Street at the driveway entrance of the Sunoco located at 6695 N Carl G Rose Hwy.

Troopers say the Ocala man and woman were on a motorcycle traveling northbound on SR-200.

Failing to yield, the pickup truck turned left into the path of the motorcycle, colliding with the left rear side of motorcycle which departed the highway and struck several reflective traffic posts before colliding with the business sign of 19th Hole Liquor.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected from the vehicle. Transported to an area hospital, both riders died from injuries suffered during the crash.
