Citra man critically injured after crash on I-75 near mile marker 445

A Citra man was critically injured following a crash on I-75 in Hamilton County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s incident report, a sedan being driven by a 61-year-old Citra man was traveling northbound on I-75 near mile marker 445 on Sunday at around 11:30 p.m.

An SUV driven by a 58-year-old woman from Mableton, Georgia was also heading northbound on I-75.

Both vehicles collided within the center lane.

After the impact, the sedan came to a rest on the left paved shoulder. When the SUV stopped, it was partially in the right lane with the rest of the vehicle resting on the right paved shoulder.

The sedan’s driver sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The SUV’s driver was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The names of the drivers were not released, per FHP policy.
