Miami FedEx driver run down by his own truck

A Florida FedEx driver was run over by his own truck Thursday afternoon while making deliveries on his assigned route.

The 34-year-old driver’s truck failed to start, at which point he exited the vehicle and began checking under the hood. The vehicle then started to roll forward.

The driver was pinned beneath the truck and dragged down the road despite his efforts to evade the rolling truck, according to Miami-Dade Police.

The driver was eventually helped from under the truck by bystanders and is now in extremely critical condition at a local hospital.

“Right now we are holding out for hope,” said Detective Chris Thomas of the Miami-Dade Police Department. “We pray for his family that they get to be thankful this Christmas and not be enduring some sort of tragedy.”
