Hollywood, FL – Serious Pedestrian Accident at Restaurant on S 20th Ave
Hollywood, FL (November 4, 2021) – On Tuesday night, November 2, a pedestrian accident occurred at a restaurant in Hollywood that led to serious injuries.
According to Hollywood Police, the accident happened on South 20th Avenue at the Bang Shack restaurant. The driver of a passenger vehicle was driving down an alley when the driver made a turn onto 20th Avenue. The driver tried to avoid a parked fire truck, which caused the vehicle to drive up onto the curb. The vehicle then ran into a table where multiple people were eating.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Three of the victims were at the table when the vehicle struck them and the table. One of the victims was pinned between the SUV and a palm tree and she is now in a coma and lost both of her legs. The other victims were also seriously injured. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was also hurt in the accident.
The police did not say if any charges are expected.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
