St. Augustine man dies in crash near ramp from 9B to I-95
A 37-year-old man from St. Augustine is dead following a crash Monday morning near the northbound ramp from 9B to I-95.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. when a car went off the roadway and struck the southbound concrete overpass. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a fire broke out inside the car.
The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died at UF Health Jacksonville, FHP said. The man was wearing his seatbelt.
The area was blocked for hours following the crash but has since reopened.
