I-295 at New Kings Road reopens after fatal crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Traffic heading southbound on Interstate 295 was blocked at New Kings Road for nearly three hours after a pickup truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer.

Florida Highway Patrol said the pickup ended up lodged partly under the big rig’s trailer and died at the scene.

Traffic is backed heading south on I-295 was diverted off the interstate from before 9 a.m. until just before Noon.
