FHP: Yulee man involved in back-to-back DUI crashes, 4-year-old passenger in critical condition
YULEE, Fla. — A 4-year-old girl is in critical condition this Thanksgiving after being left unrestrained in a car that was involved in a DUI crash.
In a Florida Highway Patrol report, Andy Reyes Ramos, of Yulee, was driving with the little girl in a Hyundai Sonata on SR 200 and Old Nassauville Road where he was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
Troopers say Ramos drove from the scene but crashed into a vehicle—a Ford SUV—a short distance away at Santa Barbara Road. In an attempt to flee again, Ramos intentionally rammed the SUV and drove onto Harry Green Road where his Hyundai broke down.
The child was not in a car seat or restrained during the incident, according to FHP.
Ramos faces multiple charges including, reckless driving, DUI, child neglect, and aggravated battery.
