Lehigh Acres man killed in ATV crash
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A Lehigh Acres man was killed in an ATV crash on 30th Street SW just west of Joan Avenue South in Lee County Sunday evening.
Around 5:22 p.m., the 24-year-old was driving the ATV along 30th Street SW when he lost control ran off the road and hit a mailbox, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash caused the ATV to roll over, troopers said.
The driver was taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators said the man was not wearing a helmet.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash. No further details were immediately available.
