Pedestrian killed by big rig in Lake Worth
One person has died after being struck by a big rig in Lake Worth last night.
It was just past 9:00 p.m. when police got word of the incident on east-bound Highway 199 on the east side of Lake Worth.
Police found the victim was already clearly dead. They closed down the east-bound lanes for about four hours and traffic was diverted off onto Surfside Drive before the bridge.
Police have not said why the victim was on foot on the highway nor have they said if the big rig driver will be charged.
