Fort Myers man killed in crash
BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Fort Myers man has died after veering off the road in Boca Raton early Monday morning.
44-year-old Murat Gurkaynak was pronounced dead after running off the road near 7000 N. Federal Highway and NE 70th Street around 1:45 a.m, according to the Boca Raton Police Services Department.
Police said the man was driving a 2005 Ford Expedition when he veered onto a sidewalk and hit a street sign, fire hydrant, and two wooden electrical poles.
Gurkaynak was thrown from the vehicle in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to investigators.
Boca Raton Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Officer Rafalko at 561-620-6101.
