Vehicle flees after hitting pedestrian in Tampa, police say

A car hit a pedestrian in Tampa and left the scene, and the pedestrian later died Friday night, Tampa police said in a statement.

The unnamed pedestrian was struck on the 3600 block of N. 50th Street and died from injuries at a hospital, police said.

The driver fled the scene, according to police. Investigators believe the suspect was driving a 2018 or 2019 Honda Accord with a missing front grill.
