Pedestrian dies after being struck by car on I-75
A man died Saturday morning after he was struck by a car on Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 51-year-old man from Marco Island was driving north on I-75, south of Bruce B Downs Boulevard, when a 23-year-old Tampa man walked into the sedan’s path for an “unknown reason,” the Highway Patrol said.
The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries, the statement said. The driver had no reported injuries.
