Woman pushing wheelchair across Orange County road fatally struck by car
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman pushing a wheelchair across an Orange County road was killed after she was struck by a car, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said a car was traveling northbound on State Road 436 near Old Cheney Highway around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
They said a 59-year-old Orlando woman was pushing the wheelchair across State Road 436 when she was struck by the front of the car.
The woman was not on a crosswalk or at an intersection, troopers said.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
The crash remains under investigation.
