Miami, FL – Fatal Bicycle Accident at NW 12th Ave & 51st St
Miami, FL (December 27, 2021) – At 6:45 a.m. on Monday morning, December 27, a fatal bicycle accident involving a hit-and-run driver took place in Miami.
According to Miami Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Northwest 12th Avenue and 51st Street. A bicyclist was traveling through the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was also traveling in the area. The driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, identified only as an adult male in his 40s, was rushed to a local trauma center with severe injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Police confirmed that a large portion of the roadway was blocked around the area of 52nd Street after the accident. They did not confirm if they found the driver responsible for the accident as of yet.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
