A driver struck a couple crossing Northwest Seventh Street in Miami, killing the woman and putting the man in the hospital in critical condition, Miami police said.
The 64-year-old woman and the man in his late 50s were crossing mid-block around 6:30 a.m. and, Miami police Officer Michael Vega said, ““it appears that pedestrians failed to yield the right of way and were crossing mid block when they were struck.”
The aftermath had eastbound Northwest Seventh Street closed at Red Road, Northwest 57th Avenue, until about 9:50 a.m.
