Port Charlotte man killed after crashing into tractor-trailer on I-75 in Collier County

A Port Charlotte man died Tuesday morning when his pickup hit the back of a tractor-trailer rig turning around on Interstate 75.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 36-year-old Port Charlotte man was driving east on I-75 shortly before 10 a.m.

Troopers said the 31-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer had been westbound but turned onto the paved median turnaround at Mile Marker 92 and entered the interstate’s eastbound left lane.
