North Fort Myers woman dies in Nort Fort Myers golf cart crash

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – A North Fort Myers woman died in a crash on Littleton Road near US 41 Friday afternoon.

The 59-year-old woman was driving the golf cart when she was getting out of a driveway access at a 7-Eleven store in the area, Florida Highway Patrol confirmed. A pickup truck driven by a 56-year-old Punta Gorda man was approaching stopped traffic in the left turn lane.

Troopers said the front right of the pickup truck hit the left side of the golf cart.

The golf cart ended up rotating and flipping, FHP said.

Littleton Road was shut down in the area while troopers investigated the crash.
