Man walks home after early morning Bonita Springs rollover crash
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – A man walked away from a rollover crash in downtown Bonita Springs early Tuesday morning.
The driver fell asleep at the wheel around 1:35 a.m. and crashed just in front of Benson’s Grocery on Wilson Street near Old US 41, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the man was driving an SUV when he hit a palm tree, bushes, and a sign before the car flipped over.
The driver was okay after the crash and was able to walk home, according to LCSO. Deputies said he lives near the area of the crash.
A tow truck arrived around 2:30 a.m.
Lanes of Old US 41 were shut down while crews investigated the crash and have since reopened.
No further details were immediately available.
