Bicyclist dead after collision with vehicle in Fort Lauderdale

A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle on a bridge early Saturday morning in Fort Lauderdale, officials said.

Fort Lauderdale police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at about 4 a.m. on a bridge at 400 SW 7th Avenue.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The bicyclist’s identity won’t be released until next of kin is notified.

The driver stayed at the accident site and was cooperative, Fort Lauderdale police said.
